PLEASE READ AND HELP IF YOU CAN

Two brave little lads in Wigan are battling against little known illnesses. Jack Johnson has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Joe Kendrick has Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). The significance of "little known illnesses" is that there is generally very little funding for research. I am delighted to be able to assist both causes and hope that my 2013 bike ride can help in some way to increase awareness of these conditions and also maybe raise some funds.

Each of the youngsters has their own website : -

Jack    http://www.joiningjack.org/              "Jack has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, DMD. There is no cure at the moment. We want to find a cure. We're raising money to fund research to find an effective set of treatments to combat this condition. We want to make a difference to this generation of people living with DMD. Thanks to everyone who is supporting us."

Joe     http://www.josephsgoal.org/              '' Joe has shown us he wants to fight all the way, and we are determined to fight on his behalf to help create awareness of this devastating condition, find better treatments for him and other children with NKH, and, hopefully find a cure."

I would ask anyone following my blog to spare a minute or two and have a look at these websites.

I have set up an account into which donations can be made (see below). Any payments into this account, together with any cash donations, will be shared equally between the two chosen charities. Please leave your name as a reference. Alternatively, if you wish to donate directly to one or both, you are welcome to do so through their own website.
Please make your payment into the following First Direct account : -

Thank you. Your donation is very much appreciated and may make a massive difference to the lives of these two little boys and also all others with the same conditions.

NOTE: I will also be making a donation to my favourite Turkish charity F.I.G.

The beneficiaries for the 2012 ride were as follows: -

WIGAN AND LEIGH HOSPICE  http://www.wlh.org.uk/ In their own words "Wigan & Leigh Hospice is a bright, modern building staffed by dedicated, caring professionals and assisted by volunteers; whose sole objective is to provide care, compassion and support for patients living with a life-limiting condition and their loved ones".

FETHIYE INTERNATIONAL GROUP  http://www.figfethiye.org/ Again in their own words  To promote the education and welfare of children in the locality of Fethiye, through fund raising and voluntary activities.’
